MassDevelopment Adds New Talent to Management Team

MassDevelopment President/CEO Robert L. Culver today announced two key appointments at the agency.

Mark Sternman has joined MassDevelopment's marketing and communications division as vice president, research. Sternman will oversee the agency's in-house research initiatives, with an emphasis on economic and development outreach. Prior to joining MassDevelopment, Sternman served as a senior policy advisor in U.S. Senator John Kerry's Boston office and as economic development director in U.S. Representative Martin Meehan's Lowell office. Sternman graduated from Dartmouth College and Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. He resides in Boston.

Bonnie Biocchi has joined MassDevelopment as vice president, community relations for Devens. Biocchi will oversee community and government affairs for Devens, a 4,400 acre redevelopment project directed by MassDevelopment. She will also implement strategic public education and information programs. Biocchi brings more than ten years of experience in the Devens region to her position, serving previously as executive director of the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce. She attended American University in Washington D.C. and currently resides in Groton.

MassDevelopment, the state's finance and development authority, works with businesses, financial institutions and local officials to stimulate economic growth across the Commonwealth. In fiscal year 2005, MassDevelopment financed or managed 158 projects statewide representing an investment of nearly $1.9 billion in the Massachusetts economy. These projects are supporting the creation of 2,769 housing units and more than 9,800 jobs: 4,702 permanent and 5,100 in construction.
