MassDevelopment President/CEO Announces New Additions to Management Team, Promotions

Culver today announced five recent appointments to the agency's management team, and a key promotion in the business development group. Kenneth Goode has been promoted to vice president and team leader for business development. In his new position, he will oversee business development officers in five regional offices as they work to attract new leads and maintain contacts with past MassDevelopment clients. Goode joined MassDevelopment in 1996 as project manager, and moved to the business development division in 1999. Previously, Goode worked as director of government and community affairs for Purity Supermarkets, and as president of the Billerica Plan, Inc. He holds a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and resides in Arlington. Marguerite (Maggie) Debbie has joined the agency as senior vice president asset management in the real estate division. In her new role, Debbie will oversee MassDevelopment's $250 million real estate portfolio. Previously, Debbie worked as director of real property and environmental management at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. She holds a BA in psychology from Emmanuel College, a master's in counseling from Sargent College at Boston University and an MBA from Boston University's Graduate School of Management. She resides in Bedford. Ted Harris has joined the agency as chief information officer and senior vice president of information technology. In his new role, Harris will oversee the MIS department and work to ensure the effective, efficient and secure operation of all information systems. Previously, Harris worked in a number of information security roles at Fidelity Investments of Boston, and as director of strategic information technology and risk management at BTI Services, Inc. of Jacksonville, Florida. He holds a dual BS in philosophy/logic and political science/theory from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of North Florida. He resides in Boston. Anthony Gabinetti has joined the agency as senior vice president of finance and controller. In his new role, he will evaluate and direct the agency's accounting functions including maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives. Previously, Gabinetti worked as chief financial officer for ERA The Masiello Group, Inc., of Keene, NH and as a general practice manager with PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Springfield, MA. He holds a BS in business administration from Fordham University and is a Massachusetts Certified Public Accountant. He resides in Amherst, MA. Michael Mattos has joined the agency as vice president in the community development division. In his new role, he will manage municipal outreach efforts as well as the MassDevelopment-administered brownfields redevelopment fund for more than 70 communities in southeastern Massachusetts. Previously, Mattos worked as a project manager for the Massachusetts Office of Business Development and for the Brockton 21st Century Economic Development Corporation. He holds a BS in geography from Bridgewater State College and a master's in regional planning from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and resides in Taunton. David Newton has joined the agency as grant manager in the finance division. In his new role, he will develop resources, research funding sources and write proposals to support a variety of projects and initiatives. Previously, Newton worked as director of the grant center and office of sponsored projects at Fitchburg State College and as a regional planning and development consultant for Newton Planning Associates of Littleton, MA. Newton holds a BA from Syracuse University and an MA in urban and environmental policy from Tufts University. He resides in Littleton, MA. MassDevelopment, the state's finance and development authority, partners with businesses and local officials to stimulate growth across the Commonwealth. In fiscal year 2004, the agency arranged financing for or managed 201 projects statewide totaling more than $1.25 billion. These projects supported the creation of more than 5,500 jobs and 2,445 housing starts. |
