MassDevelopment President/CEO Announces New Additions to Management Team

MassDevelopment president/CEO Robert L. Culver today announced two recent appointments to the agency's management team, including a key new-hire at the Devens community.

Richard A. Montuori will join MassDevelopment as senior vice president of operations at Devens. Montuori brings 17 years' experience in municipal administration to the agency, working most recently as town manager of Billerica, MA. Prior to that, Montuori served as town administrator for Marshfield, MA and as an administrative assistant to the Board of Selectmen in Clinton, MA. In his new role, Montuori will manage day-to-day operations of the Devens community, including its public works, fire and police departments. He will also oversee the community's annual operating budget. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy/Administration and a Master of Public Administration from Suffolk University.

Michael H. Miller has joined MassDevelopment as senior vice president of the real estate division. Miller brings nearly 30 years experience in public and private sector real estate, working most recently as the head of the real estate legal department at the Massachusetts Port Authority. Prior to that, Miller worked as partner at the Edwards & Angell law firm in Boston, MA, and as an associate at George Michaels, P.C., also in Boston. In his new role, Miller will serve as deputy to the executive vice president/real estate and planning, working to develop and manage major real estate projects across the Commonwealth, including 100 Cambridge Street in Boston and the redevelopment of Northampton State Hospital in Northampton, MA. Miller holds a BS from Syracuse University, a JD from Boston College Law School and an LLM in Taxation from Boston University Law School.

MassDevelopment, the state's finance and economic development agent, partners with businesses and local officials to stimulate growth across the Commonwealth. In fiscal year 2004, the agency arranged financing for, or managed 201 projects statewide totaling more than $1.25 billion. These projects supported the creation of more than 5,500 jobs and 2,445 housing starts.
