The Dimock Center

MassDevelopment provided an $11 million New Markets Tax Credit allocation to the Dimock Center, a nonprofit health and human services organization in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood. The organization used the allocation to add 12 beds to the Dr. Lucy Sewall Center for Acute Treatment Services, a detoxification center for alcohol and substance abuse recovery. The Dimock Center also reconfigured inpatient rooms, restrooms and offices; built out its basement for outpatient services; and installed new flooring, ceilings, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm and other mechanical systems. These improvements allow the Center to serve 1,000 more patients each year.
