Job Summary:

MassDevelopment is accepting applications for an Investment Banking Associate in our Finance Programs Department. This position will be a hybrid model, with a combination of remote work and in-office work located in Boston.  

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Investment Banking, this position provides support for several key financing programs. The Investment Banking Associate oversees various compliance and reporting activities, and assists the department manager and team members with special projects.  

The person in this role will deal with a diverse group of individuals, including government officials, borrowers, lenders, attorneys, and internal team members. To be successful in this position, the person will need strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and be a highly organized self-starter and problem solver. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Program support for bond issuance and various other programs, including preparation of approval requests and coordination with state officials. 
  • Marketing support, including assisting team members in developing calling lists for outreach to existing clients and advisors.
  • Oversee compliance efforts, including post-issuance compliance on bond issues, affordability compliance on housing issues, and updating of department policy guidelines.
  • Assist the department manager by gathering information required for annual budget preparation and analysis. 
  • Work with division management and team members to ensure accurate and complete database records.
  • Other duties may be assigned consistent with the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree.
  • 3 years of work experience in financial services or related field, or similar job role, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Combination of experience and education.
  • Knowledge and experience with database programs.
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with people at all levels and from varied disciplines.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple team members and projects to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree relating to business.
  • 5 years of work experience in financial services, or similar job role, in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Self-starter and creative problem solver with an ability to perform work independently and work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge and experience with EnAble.
  • Bilingual a plus.
