State grants $334K to Central Mass. collaborative workspaces

December 22, 2020

The Gov. Charlie Baker administration is issuing $333,989 in grants to Central Mass. collaborative workspaces, to help them expand and safely reopen, according to a Tuesday press release from MassDevelopment, which is administering the funds.

The funding is part of a $1.205-million package injected into collaborative workspaces around the state.

Among those receiving funding through the program is the Worcester Regional Food Hub Union Station shared commercial kitchen, which was awarded $100,000, the largest such grant in the region. The Food Hub’s shared commercial kitchen is located in the Greendale People’s Church, and, according to MassDevelopment, helps provide food business entrepreneurs with access to professional kitchen equipment. The funding will be used to fit out the Hub’s new headquarters at Union Station.
