TDI Challenge Grants

TDI Challenge Grants aim to "challenge" Gateway Cities to explore how updated policies and processes can help improve business development and urban vibrancy by providing the funding needed for project implementation. This tool offers financial support up front to municipalities that commit to making a change in policy, process, or ordinance that will directly advance the goals of the TDI Partnership Workplan. Once that change is complete, TDI partnerships will receive additional funding for programs or projects that the new policies make possible. For example, a city can use up-front TDI Challenge Grant funds for studies, community meetings, and extra staff work needed to advance policy changes that make public-event permitting easier for event organizers, and the remaining grant funds could then be used to implement such public events.
