Boasting a population of nearly 100,000 people, Brockton is the anchor community of Massachusetts’ Metro South region. The Brockton TDI District is located in the heart of the city’s downtown, which is home to WB Mason’s world headquarters and an MBTA commuter rail station that can reach downtown Boston in just 32 minutes. The Brockton TDI Partnership’s ultimate goal is to build a strong, diverse, attractive downtown that can reclaim its former role as a hub for commerce, arts, and entertainment in southeastern Massachusetts. To accomplish this, the TDI Partnership is working hard to attract a broader socioeconomic mix of businesses and residents that will contribute to the financial viability of the city and increase vibrancy downtown. Since Brockton was designated a TDI District in 2015, 22 real estate development projects have been completed, are under construction, or are in the permitting pipeline to locate in the city’s downtown.
