The Springfield TDI District is located in the core of the city’s downtown and is an increasingly vibrant center for entrepreneurship, culture, and dining. The district sits between several major nearby investments, including the renovation of Union Station, development of MGM Springfield, opening of the World of Dr. Seuss museum, and launch of the Springfield Innovation Center. The Springfield TDI Partnership’s goal is to connect these uses to give visitors, residents, and workers positive destinations throughout the neighborhood and offer economic opportunities for residents in the form of job creation and small business development.

Springfield Active Implementation Strategy
For their first piece of technical assistance, Springfield had consultant Ninigret Partners perform an Active Implementation strategy, which started with a market study and recommended interventions such as developing a dining district and more outdoor uses in the downtown.
Placemaking and Branding
Consultants Visual Dialogue and Utile created a brand and wayfinding plan for downtown Springfield to help mark area attractions and parking.
Consultant TSM Design created materials that could be used to market the downtown, based off of the market study created by Ninigret Partners.
